WebTrafficIQ / Load balancer & CDN log analyzer

Load balancer & CDN log analyzer

AWS ALB, CloudFront and Cloudflare logs record something a plain access log never does: how long the request actually took, split between the edge and your application. That turns guesswork into p50, p95 and p99 — and settles whether a 5xx came from the balancer or from your app. Runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

Reads AWS Application Load Balancer access logs, CloudFront standard logs (tab-separated with the #Fields header) and Cloudflare Logpush JSON lines. Gzipped files must be extracted first.

What these logs add over an access log

A normal Apache or Nginx access log tells you a request happened and what status it got. It does not record how long it took. ALB, CloudFront and Cloudflare all do — and ALB splits it three ways: time receiving the request, time waiting on your target, and time sending the response. That is enough to compute real percentiles and to say which side was slow.

ALB also logs two status codes per request: the one your target returned and the one the balancer sent the client. When they disagree, the balancer generated the response itself — a 502 with no target status means the target never answered, which is a different problem from your app returning 502 on its own.

Reading percentiles honestly

A mean latency hides everything that matters. If p50 is 80 ms and p99 is 9 seconds, most users are fine and one in a hundred is abandoning the page — and the mean reports neither. This tool leads with p50, p95 and p99 together, because the gap between them is the finding.

Percentiles here describe the requests in the file you loaded. If that file is one hour of one balancer out of several, it describes that slice and not your service.

Privacy

Logs routinely contain personal data, internal hostnames, usernames and sometimes credentials. Files and pasted text are processed entirely in your browser and are never sent to QCRAMAI. Review and redact before sharing any exported output. Each analysis is limited to 200,000 non-empty lines and files to 25 MB.
